It`s been over a year since my last update, and nearly everything has changed, though this will not come as a surprise to anyone who`s been watching my gallery!  In August I moved from Prague in Czech Republic to Kyoto prefecture in Japan.  I`m here with a year-long teaching program in a tiny village south east of Kyoto.  It`s taken me a while to really get my head around the different essence of photography here, but I think I`m started to get the hang of it.  And sometime next week I plan to purchase my first SLR!  I`ve got my sights on the Canon XSi 450D.  Any comments on that choice?  I`m quite excited about it, as I think my 4 year old Minolta has taken me as far as it can go, though I will miss the long and easy zoom.
   And just a heads-up, I`ll be cleaning out my gallery and trying to weed out some of the earlier pieces that don`t meet the standard of the newer work. I realized I`ve been throwing everything that SOMEONE might like onto my gallery, and the result has been haphazard and of very mixed quality.  I`m hoping to refine it.  
    Last of all, keep your eyes trained here if you enjoy cultural photography, because in August I`ll leave Japan to travel through Vietnam and Cambodia, eventually ending up for 6 months or so in India. I imagine my photography will change a lot over the course of that trip!
